We haven’t had snow in our town for 16 years. Maybe a flurry here and there, but nothing worth really considering snow. So the rumor started and the Weather Channel predicted and we got tired of waiting and jumped in the car and started driving towards my Nanny’s house. I’d called her and she’d said that lots of roads were closed and we wouldn’t be able to get close, but I thought we’d just drive to the wall of police cars and barricades and jump out and let the kids play for a second. We never encountered anything like that. We didn’t have a set destination. We had the most fun.

This was the first sighting. The tops of the hay had actual snow on them and the kids oooo’d and ahhhhh’d and we drove slow and took pictures- like the true Floridians we are.

Then we found this empty church parking lot with a field next to it and pulled in there.

Then we decided to keep driving north to see what we could find.

And it was snowing heavier and heavier and it was so thick on the ground that we couldn’t see grass in alot of places. Since we were so close to my Nanny’s by this time, we decided to try and make it to her house.

And we did! She was very surprised when we showed up. We ate some pizza, then went outside and played for a while, loaded the truck up and went home.

It was so cool and so fun. Have a great weekend! xoxox, AmyQ
